Cool clips from around the world that are somehow related (yes, sometimes tenuously) to web design, development, search engine optimization (SEO) and copywriting.

After 8 years working together, web designer Ian Butler and SEO copywriter Glenn Murray have officially joined forces. Their high-end digital agency, Silver Pistol, launched today.

What Silver Pistol does

Specializing in web design, development, search engine optimization (SEO), creative concept and copywriting, Silver Pistol is a unique agency with a very unique heritage. It may, in fact, be the only digital agency in the world led by a world-class designer and a world-class SEO copywriter.

Around 100 years' experience across the team

Creative Director, Ian Butler, brings more than 20 years of design experience to the table. He's an award-winning designer who grew up and trained in London, and emigrated to Australia in 1994. He was creative director for a large Sydney below-the-line agency for 4 years, and then started a successful digital agency in 1998 (which is now part of the Ogilvy Group). Ian has designed and overseen some of the largest online programs in the world.

Managing Director, Glenn Murray, has been writing professionally for 16 years. He spent 9 years as a technical writer in the software industry, then 7 years as the owner of copywriting studio, Divine Write. Specializing in SEO copywriting, he progressed naturally into the broader field of straight search engine optimization (SEO), after writing the highly regarded SEO ebook, SEO Secrets.

Silver Pistol’s tagline is “Emphatic Digital Experiences”. And that’s exactly what these 2 leading creatives have a track record of delivering. Their past clients include some of the world’s biggest brands. Names like American Express, the Australian Federal Government, Bayer, BigPond, IBM, Nestle, LG, Toyota and Virgin.

Of course, while Butler and Murray will play a central role in the day-to-day operations of Silver Pistol, they’re by no means the sum-total of the company’s talent. To the contrary, they’ve drawn together an intimidating team of seasoned industry professionals, who, between them, boast some 70  years of experience.

The Silver Pistol approach

According to Managing Director, Murray, the company takes a “no-nonsense, straight-up approach” to everything it does. “Clients want outcomes,” he says, “not just pretty pictures. So that’s what we deliver. Yeah, our designs are eye-catching, but that’s just the start of it. Ultimately, they’re just a means to an end. Their real goal is to get people clicking, calling, buying, emailing, linking, blogging, tweeting and remembering. Our own website, www.silverpistol.com, is a good case in point.”

Your site is mezmerizing! Absolutely amazing. I spent at least ten minutes on the home page! Saved as a favorite!! I do get a hint someone likes the song Death in Vegas… lol

Hi Jill. Thanks for your very kind comment. That's so nice. (I'm afraid we're all guilty of loving Death in Vegas. We're also guilty of leaving the website running in the background so we can listen to some good music!)

I stumbled on your site from FWA, its definitely unique and feels very alive.
I would prefer to have the music player available to you all the time as you have to back track from where ever you are to change tracks or adjust the sound etc.
The portfolio is where I always go first but i don't see any url's with each sample. Also each piece is just a small screen shot portion of the site with no overview of the project so I'm left wondering what exactly you did for your clients.
Overall its cool and I wish this comment box was bigger too :-)

Hi Max. Thanks for your comments. All taken on board.
